The Essential Guide To Faith & Decency In Fashion & Behavior
The questions about faith are always in, and so we take it into the world of fashion and style. In the world of religion, it takes on many different meanings and often presents issues. Modesty being a big one, where does humility begin, it begins in our self-perception. No one definition fits all, yet you can see how many arrive at the church doors and within a short time, their style of dress changes. As the most advanced in their spiritual quest, it shows in their bodies and often in their face. So ask yourself what does this have to do with modesty and faith?
How we dress influences how we act. How we wear our clothes influences who we hang around with, and who we attract to be around us. How we cover is a demonstration of our reverence or the lack thereof, before you disagree with it think of this; how would you react if someone attended your wedding, wearing an evening gown? Would that be appropriate or respectful to you, most people would say definitely not acceptable. Your faith and beliefs are yours, and modesty is born out of your personal understanding and relationship with the god that you worship.
The point is this that we all should be treating our bodies as a sacred gift. When we understand that how we dress affects how we deal with others and how they deal with us, we are in control. When we go to church or on dates, etc. we are bound to dress differently than someone who really does not care about anyone else’s opinion or how their clothes might affect someone else’s thoughts. Once you begin to think in this manner, you start a win-win with yourself and your community.
Who is to say whether fashion and faith go hand in hand, not me, yet it is a new conversation. Clothing not so much style is a much needed and unavoidable concerns for everyone. None of us can walk around in the nude naked, so clothes are a must pretty much everywhere. The question becomes what to wear, and how? What we wear is essential and a nonverbal way of communications with others. You will see how people respond to you depending on what you’re wearing.
Clothes and your wardrobe is not life itself, yet they are and in many ways help you live your life and having faith in your style can only support you to succeed at whatever it is that you’re heading towards. What we’re saying here is that you can have faith in your sense of style and, be a responsible and joyous person in your love of fashion. Why not?
Until the next time my friend, take good care and be well.
