If being a leader is important to you then you will want to grow and gain wisdom. The quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment, is defined as intelligence, the quality of being wise. A great leader who wants to gain knowledge must know that time is a factor. It requires years and decades to grow and become a wise leader. Albert Einstein said, “Wisdom is not as a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it.”
What most people think is that it is only older or seasoned leaders who have wisdom; however, this is not true. Young people can acquire it if they are willing to pay their dues and be open to learning and growing especially if they incorporate these benefits into their leadership skills. The age factor when you add the benefits listed does not always apply to just the older person; the age could be just as well a young person with leadership skills, it is possible.
Good Judgment – A leader who has wisdom can better handle the challenges that arise from leading. Wisdom like good judgment comes with experience. The most important thing is to grow and learn from your experiences. Will Rogers said, ” Good judgment comes from experience, a and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.” When you have good taste, you will always be solving problems, seeing better results, and moving forward.
Strong Character – Having a strong character should be the foundation of a leader’s life. Strong character produces wisdom, which leads to the ability to impact others positively. Wise leaders have been through many different experiences and have maintained their integrity through it. If you are intentional in the maintenance of your character and growing into wisdom, then you will be unstoppable.
It Brings Honor – Wisdom will bring you honor to your personal and professional life. Over time this honor will lead to your “lasting legacy.” When you grow in wisdom, then your honor among others starts to rise. Your life becomes an example of someone worth following. H.L. Menchen said, “Honor is simply the morality of superior men.” In fact, there are no superior men, but there are men/people who excel in the arena of honor and integrity, would you agree?
Grows Influence – Having wisdom will increase your ability to influence others. Because who you are and what you do attracts like minded people. When you have knowledge, talent, and a good track record people will want to follow you because of your wisdom. It truly is like the old saying ” birds of a feather stick together”. When you are growing and always learning it will increase your reach and influence because others can see, feel and hear your wisdom.
When one is without wisdom their life can be like an empty shell; it would be like a light bulb that has no illumination. Seekers refuse to live a life without the journey to wisdom; always embracing benefits that are essential to their purpose. If that sounds like you, then you are on the path that fits your mission and purpose in life.
Until the next time, take good care and be well.
