Rules How To Dress For Business, Not Just Pleasure!

When you get your eye-opening awareness to dressing for business means it is not just for pleasure, you are in the win-win seat. You always want to look like a professional, and you can only do that when you have all of your ducks in a row. We are going to take a sneak peek into some of the musts -avoids when you are dressing for business. What can happen is that as women, we often time simply forget what it means to dress for success in the business world.

Women in the workforce need to look professional and feminine. What you want to do is avoid some of the apparent fashion faux pas’s that can quickly happen, and are never acceptable. Showing too much cleavage at work is never professional, nor is it acceptable. Dressing in sexy attire means that you’ll get lot’s of stares and attention yet you’ll be passed over for promotions. Bottom line if you want to get ahead in any business setting, you must learn how to dress like a professional, ditch the low-cut outfits.

What you must do is check to see that you are not wearing a too-short skirt or dress. Your knees are visual anchors, and all the attention will be drawn down to them. You want the focus on your face where it should be. Why not a dress or skirt that you can sit down in without showing too much thigh. When too much attention is towards your body, something is amiss. See-through clothes is another that you must avoid at all cost. You can check to make sure all is well in bright lights, see-through clothing is never for business.

The bottom line and a number one pet peeve are undergarments showing. In this day and time, it is never acceptable. We now have a plethora of unique and fantastic undergarments available to us, we have no excuses ever. A few other things to be on the outlook for; Over-accessorize, just too much jewelry, less is always more and better. Fit, ill-fitting clothes, too tight and too loose neither belongs in a professional work environment. A big on especially in the summer and in year-round warm climates, truth be told summer staples are not acceptable. Sundresses, spaghetti straps, flip-flops will not ever fit in this type of business environment. Leave the tank tops at home it is not beachwear that you need in an office setting.

Find pleasure in your signature style, yet know that dressing for success means business, not fun.

Until the next time my friend, take good care and be well.
