Why are we attracted more to a person who is self-confident as opposed to a person who appears to be conceited? Truth be told pretentious people we are repelled by no matter which business they are in yet, more so if they are in the fashion business. We tend to mix up the two personality types when in all reality they are extreme opposites. So why does it show up more in the fashion business among women? The core of the conceited person is a lack of confidence, so they tend to overcompensate. When they do, it shows up as an extreme lack of self-confidence.
How conceit shows up among women and is seen more often is because fashion is a business and not many really understand it for themselves. Some women still don’t follow the fashion business and it’ because they don’t care, or it makes them insecure when it should do the opposite. When style and fashion are understood, it can make a woman feel confident and stylish. When it is seen as a positive and robust springboard for them and their lifestyle, it becomes fun. So, the question is how does one get to that awareness? We will list some steps to take and some critical essential, to begin with, to change that outlook.
When you get into fashion, it should boost your self-confidence and give you a sense of ease and comfort. It is when you discover your signature style and stamp it to you; that you will never be uncomfortable again about it. When you trust your body shape and learn how to best dress it and connect that to what’s your best fashion style you’re in the lead. The best beginning is to start with is comfort yet, make it comfortable with the fit. Once you begin the steps to your style, it has to reflect your mood, health and add to your overall confidence.
What happens when you start to value the art of dressing is that you’ll see how important it is and how it reflects your personality and who you are. It will also make it easier to connect with like-minded people and the connections you want to rise to meet and greet one on one. If your social status is important to you then dressing well will add to your natural self-confidence and erase any conceit that you might have about fashion. In addition to that, it can and will bring you many opportunities.
Clothes are a study and like it or not, your clothes and presentation communicate volumes about you as a person. The question you are being left with is this it is not whether or not you care about fashion, it’s more about what you’re communicating intentionally or unconsciously through your fashion choices. Your clothes tell a story about you let it be a truthful one and one you build on self-confidence and not conceit.
Until the next time my friend, take good care and be well.
