Celebrity Role Models For Youth – The Best And The Worst!

Celebrity role models for our youth today seems to be a mixed bag in many ways. We are going to take a look at what is in the forefront today, and why and speak to how it appears to many who are concerned about it. A significant percentage of parents today were polled, and 78 percentage of them said that pop stars were the absolute worst influence om their kids. The question would be why and what to do to change that around to other role models that are positive and uplifting.

Whether real or staged, the hurling of insults and aggressive behavior dominate the airwaves, and the press coverage of events only serve to heighten the intrigue of it all. Musicians and performer in all the different medium have long been a significant impact on young people. The question has now become can celebrity culture have a positive influence on young people? Much of the research shows that it is not positive and we are in grave need of change and role models that leave an impact with a stronger and healthier sense of identity.

Now is the time to consider the ways that the media chooses to present narrow ideas about females, how they should behave and how they should look.

A big and powerful word that we see a lot of this day would be “Influencers”, the influence of role modes on young people is enormous. Role models when they show up in the best ways have an astounding effect on the lives of young people. The ability to shape the views, ideas, and actions of a young person is tremendous and never to be taken lightly. The need for robust community role models needs to be ever-present and will give the opportunity to dialogue and express the differences as they are in reality.

When it comes to the media, many of the young people agree that some of the worst role models for teens are some of the people that are listed below:

Keeping Up With The Kardashians

Miley Cyrus

MTV’S Teen Mom

Chris Brown

Lance Armstrong

The list is long these are just a few at the top of the list.

We end on a high note and look to the role models at the top of the list. Celebrities, whether we like it or not, are the leading role models for our young people. Kids from all the different lifestyles use them as an example in their lifestyle. The best dress list again will be intermixed with across the broad celebrities in different areas of the media. You decide if they are the ones that you would like for your children to have posted on their walls.

Taylor Swift – She remains at the top of the list. Taylor works to leave a positive message for young girls, and she conducts herself as if her parents were watching her every move. Commend her whether you like her or not her examples are excellent.

LeBron James – He merely seems to be one that today even his worst enemies give him kudos for all the right inner-city work that he’s doing. Giving back will always put you on top if it is sincere and authentic.

Ellen DeGeneres – Being Builled, she is making her number one issue for today’s youth. It is at the top of her list, and she has made it a priority. Using her platform to make a difference and not all about herself helping others in their plights.

There are so many to consider in both camps. You take a moment and review and get back and share the ones that you come up with on both the good and bad side; it makes for great conversation, let’s chat.

Until the next time my friend, take good care and be well.

Cheers!!!
